Today!!

¡Hola!

Well, after turning papers and applications and essays and a million forms in, the day to leave is finally here! It's such a crazy thing because I have so many feelings about going-- talk about being overwhelmed.

EXCITED!!... Think of the culture and people I'll meet down there!

NOT SO HAPPY... Lugging a total of 95 pounds of luggage around the airport because, dammit, I'm taking all of those shoes!

EXCITED!!... My Spanish is going to get so much better!

NOT SO HAPPY... But I have to say goodbye to everyone here first.

You know, it's really back and forth like that. But for the most part, I'm super excited to finally be there!

Bonnie sent me an e-mail and put in part of this wonderful book. (I'm sure most of you will recognize it-- Thanks, Bonnie!!) It's always been meaningful because I got the book for graduation. Plus, if you're ever nervous about a huge life decision, you know that...
a) Dr. Suess thinks you'll succeed
b) Even if he didn't, he could make up an entire book that rhymes!
So here goes:

CONGRATULATIONS!
Today is your day!
You're off to great places
You're off and away!
You have brains in your head
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself any direction you choose
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
And YOU are the "gal" who'll decide where to go.

-Oh The Places You'll Go, Dr. Suess

Hope all is going well with you. I gotta tell you what a laugh mom and I had the other day as we viewed the pics you sent us. For some reason I had this picture in my head that you were in a 3rd world country. I was amazed that I didn't see Hozay walking down a dirt road with donkey in toe going to the village square to sell fruit or veggies. When I was ur age, I was in Vietnam the other side of the world. Ur kind of doing the same as I did...but yours sure sounds more fum. Back to the pics.....the color of the buildings, etc brightened everyrhing up, and they have streets cars everything. I was amazed the pics of your room. Im going to take some pics at home and send them. If you get the chance please give Bube & PopPop a call via telephone. 561-733-5568 they would be touched that you thought of them and wanted to say HI....u know what I mean. Up early and getting the pool cover drained. Will open the pool and get ready to sell the old homestead. Nothing exciting going on home. Let me knoww me know if you get thos email
